Tight IT markets require new approaches in hiring

Today, BNW had the opportunity to talk with longtime recruiter Emily Welfeld for the Charlotte Business Journal.   When speaking with Emily, she detailed her struggle in finding a software developer for her company.   When she found one who fit her list of criteria, she was faced with a dilemma; the candidate had been offered seven other jobs in the past week.  For Emily, this showcased a problem - a tight IT market. In this situation, the candidate didn’t have to fight for the job, rather, Emily had to fight for him.  For a longtime recruiter, this was a new approach and demonstrated a change in the hiring process that can be found in this Business Journal article.
