"In the beginning, it was all black and white."
That quote comes from Maureen O'Hara, the stunning, Irish-American, red-headed actress. (Anyone remember the original — and in my opinion, best — “Parent Trap”?)I’m a sucker for old movies, and I’ve always loved her. Perhaps that’s part of the reason why this quote resonates.
But it’s also the fact that there are parallels between that quote and the beginning of Brave New Word, which launched last year, on Aug. 14, 2017. We started in black and white — a simple, one-woman content marketing shop with a name, a bare-bones website, two clients and a fundamental belief that businesses were in need of someone to help tell their stories, not just give them words on a page.
Things were simple for a long time. Just me, plugging away, slowly growing our list of clients and the variety of stories we could tell.
Now, they’re getting colorful. We’re growing, and we’ve realized that while we’ve been hunkered down, nose to the grindstone, doing the work, we’ve neglected to tell our own story.
So consider this our official beginning — our coming out party, of sorts. We’re going to tell you who we are, what we do and why we do it. It’s our story, and we’re finally telling it — on our blog and across our social media channels.
Follow along, on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. Can’t wait to see you there.
